In 2022 I was awarded the Developing Your Creative Practice grant from Arts Council England for my self-led research project Re-wilded Practice.

After reflecting on my work as an artist, the project was a way of experimenting with materials and processes which could be considered to have a low environmental impact.

I was able to develop a thorough and varied body of work which explored the processes of spinning, cordage and plant based dyeing; informed by participating in mentoring and workshops alongside experimentation in my home studio in Leeds.

As well as the body of work that I produced, the funding also enabled me to establish a dye garden at Bedford Fields Community Forest Garden Leeds. The aim of the garden was to allow creatives interested in exploring plant dye processes to take small samples of plant dye stuff to test, Bedford Fields would also be able to use the dye garden as a resource for workshops and education.
